Sexy Down the Avenue ~ #MySexySaturday

This week’s theme is Sexy Down the Avenue. We’re sure you’re wondering just what we mean by this. When picking themes for the rest of the year, we realized that we hadn’t picked anything historical in a while. Sexy Down the Avenue reminds us of carriage rides in London or any European city. Of course, it could be any other sexy historical setting as well.

And here's the excerpt from my second novel, a pirate’s romance titled “Treasured Chest” released on November 24th is available at Black Opal Books Amazon Barnes & Noble AllRomance eBooks Smashwords and Kobobooks

The scene is taking place in the city of Ragusa, or today's picturesque Dubrovnik, some know it as the King's Landing from the Game of Thrones.

The man-of-war captain gave her a peck on her cheek and took his leave. Sirena straightened and stared after her brother for some time then climbed two marble steps to the round edge of the well. She pulled a coin from her purse. As per tradition, she placed a kiss on the Seguin to better her chance at good luck and flicked the money into the water pouring from the mouth of twelve carved masked faces. A long sigh escaped her and she scurried along the paved street washed in the early afternoon sunshine.
Keeping his eyes on her while staying out of her sight presented a challenge, but he couldn’t afford to lose her in the crowd. At the top of Stradun Street, where the dome of the imposing baroque Cathedral of Assumption rose behind the houses at the end of the plaza, she turned toward the harbor
and left the main city.
Great sea beastie, he’d struck a real booty by a sheer dumb luck. Never had he believed nor expected he’d meet the real Sirena and come across the Strega and her crew. The women’s sad faces as he left the deck would stay imprinted in his memory forever. He missed them already. Would he ever get over their salted sardines soaked in olive oil and the best grog he had sampled? Even if the meals came served on the tarnished pewter, instead of fine china, they tasted better in such good company. His mouth watered. But it was the image of Sirena’s gray eyes, bouncing curls, and her appealing bosom that urged him not to let her out of sight, ever. The way water had soaked into her chemise and molded the thin fabric to her breasts would not leave his thoughts.

BLURB

The last thing Captain Sirena expected to find on a desolate island was...him!

When Carmen Ventura takes up her post as commander of the Strega, she becomes the new Captain Sirena, the legendary pirate most people think is just a myth created to scare children. Her first quest is to search for the “treasured chest” hidden by her predecessor. But before she can even begin the hunt, she runs into Marko Lucin, captain of the Levant and Carmen’s most insane adventure yet.

How can the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen be a bloody pirate?

Never one to pass up an adventure, especially where pretty women are concerned, Marko finds his ultimate challenge in Carmen. Not only does he fall for her courage, spunk, and intelligence, but the lady pirate can also help him get what he wants—the famous treasure everyone whispers about. His only problem—how long can he play the charming captain before she discovers his true intentions?
